SNOW Contemporary is pleased to present Tatsuo Kawaguchi's solo exhibition "From 172800 Seconds in 1971 to 345600 Seconds in 2021"from April 23 to May 22, 2021.

After the exhibition, he sealed the recorded film and tape with lead. Yusuke Nakahara commented on this exhibition, which made viewers aware of the possibility of thought and invisible events, such as the passing of time and the "relationship" with viewers as follows:
When we expect something to exist but are perplexed as the expected something is not found there, will it be regarded as nothing but a nonsensical and empty endeavor? (from the exhibition leaflet of Tatsuo Kawaguchi solo exhibition “172800 Seconds”)

For this exhibition, Kawaguchi will present "345600 Seconds" in 2021, a re-creation of "172800 Seconds" from 1971. Together with films and tapes that Kawaguchi sealed at the time, the show will also include works of frottage. Commenting on the re-creation of his 1971 exhibition, Kawaguchi says:

―――――
Through this exhibition, which questions the nature of time while recreating and quoting an exhibition held 50 years ago, we will have a rare opportunity to see the core of the creative activities of Tatsuo Kawaguchi, who has led the art world as a leading figure in conceptual art, and the presentness that emerges through this exhibition. We hope you will enjoy the exhibition.
